Amita works with ink, acrylic, water colours on paper and canvas to acknowledge a sense of freedom,choice and right that she gives herself to enjoy and experience it. To know her identity she recognizesherself with the constant flux between other identities within, who are in conflict with each other building a divide, disbelief within. Through her art, she seeks to explore the dialogue of her ‘present self’ with her ‘changing self.’ Her work is an examination of the conflict and the divide in the human mind and heart, of how the resistance leads us to live in an alternate reality that distances us from present circumstances. To resolve the restraint building within ourselves and to fill the void, we run away from reality. In the process, we form multiple identities, experiment with them and become one of them. But sometimes, we even fail in that. Through her work she want to explore and understandthe possibilities to break away and accept our self as we are and appreciate who we are.
